Best in Short Film: Summer

If one succeeds in catching a falling leaf in mid flight, then a wish will be granted. Two best friends, Leung and Will, both 16 years old, go to the woods to catch themselves a wish. Through this we see Leung's affection for his friend. We see his anxiety, confusion and excitement hanging out with his friend and wanting to kiss him, but not knowing how to approach it. It's a kiss he has to fight for.

Awesome short!! Loved the dymanic between the two characters. The struggle to come out to his friend was nicely portrayed and that last powerful line is definitely something that alot of young gay males can relate to.

I saw this at the G&L Film Festival in Chicago. This short spoke volumes despite being a short. While falling for you best friend tends to be common with queer youth, it's rare to find a friend who would be understanding. This short captures the strong friendship between the two and how nothing would change their friendship, no matter what.

It's must have been really beautiful had there been a continuation where Leung is kissing the other guy, and embracing him really tight to let him know how he feels for him inside. The film is kind of short and hanging to really depict, a gay man's pains and efforts to unravel his true feelings towards someone he loves.
