Obama shy on the issue? I don't buy it. He is the ONLY candidate that I have heard since the primaries/caucuses began that even mentions us in MIXED company. To get votes, candidates have to walk a thin line or the space between the two coasts will not vote for them.

i don't like the video because he is affraid to really say how he feels.if either of them get pick for november votes you have alot of people who r against us and they are going to put mccain in the chair just because he isn't with us like bush.

you can't blame a presidential candidate for beating around the bush when it comes to certain subjects. winning the LGBT vote won't win him this election im sorry, but it won't. LGBT is not the majority and if he doesn't get the majority's vote then it won't matter that he wants to change things for minorities because he won't be president! u have to research his past actions on issues concerning the LGB & T, then make the best decision you can because candidates have to BS to try and please

SORRY BUT THIS MAN DOESN'T HAVE OUR VOTE. . . WHAT A CROCK OF SHlT WHO CAN'T EVEN ANSWER UPFRONT WHAT HE CAN OR CANNOT DO FOR GAYS AND LESBIAN MARRIAGES IN THIS COUNTRY. IF HE'S SO SCARED AND NEGLIGIBLE ABOUT HIS DECISION, THEN THERES NO POINT FOR ME AND MY PARTNER VOTING FOR HIM THIS NOVEMBER! SUPER WEAK PLATFORM!!! WE ARE FOR HILLARY ALL THE WAY!!

Obama is strong on gay rights - and you can tell it comes from the heart. His website has a section dedicated to us: http://pride.barackobama.com/page/content/lgbthome

Im happy that for the 51 seconds of this video someone in the "political world" was willing to say what we wished they say.....his point in the clipping was very clear....churches (in this clip he mention black churches however im sure it applies to all) dont agree and will not marry same sex couples ...and his challenge to them was in a nut shell... point out where it has affected other hetero couples... hell singles for that matter......THAT CHALLENGE WILL NEVER BE COMPLETED
G0D H@S BL3SSED M3! | 05/26 8:43 PM
yo. who else is talking about gay marriage towards black america.... this is a mere clip. So of course everything he stands for isnt going to be here. do some research yall. I applaud him just for speaking on it, especially with black america in mind, we are the ones that need it the most. It's so taboo with us.

Obama does seem uncomfortable on the issue, yet what politician isn't. Politics and religion is joined at the hip, saying the wrong or right thing even can probably have you loose a lot of support. When this issue comes up a lot of politicians choose to play it safe. Plus a lot of politicians over the past few years that were for gay marriage isn't anymore and prefer civil unions with rights. Republicans and Democrats alike flip-flop on the issue.

I have to agree with one the later comments, that clip was just talking. Be specific, concise and have an actual point. I might just have thought you were talking about Black Churches.

Of course he's uncomfortable, most of them are when they tlk about a sensitive subject but he did atleast have the nerve to do it. Give him credit atleast it's a start!
