Downe4u: Rhommel Canare

This week on D4U, we have Rhommel Canare. What do you think of Rhommel's perspective on the Downe community? We want to hear your thoughts. And if you want in on this fun, set up an opportunity to do an interview with Ron to tell us what the term "downe" and this community mean to you. Just e-mail Ron at Ronald@downelink.com.

I want to really affirm the point that Ruth made about our identities. No one wants your opinions pushed on us. How we identify is how we identify. Let's all be respectful of that.

@Nunya: It's ironic how you diss the Downe identity with your narrow-minded definition when you identify as Downe at age 31. So does that mean you have problems compromising your masculinity? Why did you join "Downelink" anyways? It's you who needs a reality check. Good job Rhommel and Ron :]

...and just because you don't fit the fictitious gay stereotype of white or effeminate, doesn't mean you can't be part of the gay community. It's very diverse and made up of all kinds of people of color, culture, size and shape. Trust me, you'll grow out of being "downe" when you're 24-25 and mature.

What a bunch of bs. "Downe" is just a term for 20 year-olds who are afraid of labeling themselves as gay out of fear of compromising whatever masculinity they have. Reality check: You're gay. You should be proud.
